MiCROTEC receives Certification for Transverse Strength Grading in Sweden

MiCROTEC has successfully obtained the certification for strength grading in accordance with the EN 14081 standard for the Goldeneye Transverse, further enhancing our commitment to precision and quality in wood processing.
After receiving the machine certification earlier this spring, we are excited to share that the first production line in the green sorting at Norra Timber for spruce was officially approved at the end of October and the first certified production run the first week of November, marking a significant step forward in our collaboration.
The machine certification covers Swedish pine and spruce, including both green and dry sorting, sawn and planed surfaces as well as frozen and unfrozen wood — demonstrating the versatility and reliability of our technology in real-world conditions.
At the core of this technology is our advanced laser-based technique, which uses dot lasers for accurate grading. This innovation allows the Goldeneye 901 model to be certified without the need for X-ray technology. Meanwhile, the Goldeneye 902, equipped with X-ray, and the 906, with both X-ray and Viscan, in combination with the laser technology are capable of reaching higher C-classes and significantly improving yield, enhancing both quality and efficiency in wood processing.
In addition the scanners can determine the structural properties locally, which allows to upgrade boards into a higher strength class by removing weak parts of the board.
The certification extends to three models in the Goldeneye Transverse machine series: 901, 902, and 906, positioning MiCROTEC as a leader in delivering reliable, high-performance solutions for the wood processing industry.
