MiCROTEC Connect: Revolutionizing Wood Processing at Two Rivers Lumber
In the summer of 2025, Peak North America, in collaboration with MiCROTEC, will install the next generation greenfield Two Rivers Lumber sawmill in Alexander City, Alabama.
MiCROTEC, will provide all scanning and optimization technology for the complete mill. Driven by MiCROTEC’s CT Log scanner, the MiCROTEC Connect solution will link each step of the process, allowing full traceability from log to final product.
A standout feature of the sawmill is the integration of Real Performance Machinery’s ProDog end dogger system and ProSaw gang with MiCROTEC’s CT Log. This combination, leveraging ProDog’s rotation and positioning capabilities, maximizes the CT Log’s full potential.
The advanced scanning solutions for this project include MiCROTEC’s CT Log scanner, Logeye multi-sensor log scanner, Logeye Stereo 360° imaging system, Goldeneye Transverse lumber scanners, and integrated software and inline components, creating a fully connected mill. The MiCROTEC Connect solution, based on the CT-scanned logs, ensures that each log can be traced from virtual to real boards and that individual boards can be traced back to their original logs at each production step without any gaps.
This project marks a significant advancement in the log breakdown process, starting from log optimization to secondary processing, all based on CT scanned logs. The strategic partnership with Peak North America showcases a new level of value and resource efficiency for the industry.
This collaboration promises to set new standards in the industry, combining top-of-the-line technology from various partners to create superior solutions, while furthering sustainability efforts through optimized resource use and reduced waste.
